In celebration of his centennial, we are screening James R. Greeson's documentary movie on the American composer Conlon Nancarrow (1912-1997). Nancarrow partnered with the (automatic) player piano in a search for humanly unachievable music performances. His player piano rolls are artifactual imprints of unique imagination that radically expanded the physics and technology applications in music. Tonight's screening is our modest contribution to the world-wide tribute to the man who settled for nothing less than impossible.
